True to any beloved neighborhood restaurant, there are nuances; some guests find the fried rice a touch greasy and wish the rice used for fried rice were fresher to avoid sogginess. The hot and sour soup is divisive—cherished by many for its spice and depth, yet others find it less compelling. However, regardless of these small critiques, Great Wall’s strengths lie in its bold flavors and hearty portions, with dishes like General Tso’s and Sweet and Sour Chicken earning praise for their vibrant, crave-worthy profiles.
For those hunting a convenient, flavorful takeout experience where every bite delivers genuine Chinese comfort food, Great Wall stands as a reliable and tasty option in Urbana. Whether you’re craving the rich umami of Chicken with Cashew Nuts, the satisfying tang of Sweet & Sour Pork, or the savory goodness of Boneless Spare Ribs, this restaurant invites you to enjoy a feast that’s as comforting as it is flavorful.
Woman who answers the phones does not say bye when you saw goodbye .Food is good .The yellow (food coloring)steamed rice used for the fried rice has to be fresh at all times cause it gets mushy. The hot and sour soup isn't that good.Several of there dishes have great flavor such as general tso, sweet and sour chicken.
The hot & sour soup is my favorite. It is the best around. The rice is a bit greasy for me. I ordered the lunch portion of General tso's chicken, and the portion was large enough for two.
Have been multiple times. Although staff is not friendly, they are quick effective at taking orders. My food has never been wrong and always great quality. Food is only take out
